Glass bottle detection application

Application Details

The customer fills glass and PET bottles. These are notoriously difficult to detect with photoelectric sensors because the sensor is relying on losing some light as the beam is passed to a reflector and back.

On some bottles filled with clear liquids, the centre of the bottle acts like a lens and gives a false trigger in the centre of the bottle.

The customer had tried just about every type available with no sensor proving 100% reliable.
